This article will show you step-by-step instructions on how to use aroma rice cooker. Rice cookers can be used to cook all types of rice, including but not limited; to white, brown, parboiled, or rice in the husk, Indian-style such as basmati or jasmine, and quinoa.

When it comes to cooking rice, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. The type of rice you’re cooking, the amount of water you’re using, the vessel you’re cooking in, and even the altitude at which you’re cooking can all affect the outcome.

How does the Aroma rice cooker guarantee perfectly cooked rice every time?

The Aroma rice cooker uses a process called fuzzy logic to achieve perfectly cooked rice. Fuzzy logic is a type of artificial intelligence that can mimic the way humans think. This means that the rice cooker can make decisions based on a set of rules, just like a human would.

The rice cooker starts by measuring the amount of rice and water that has been added. It then calculates the cooking time based on these measurements. The cooking time is adjusted based on the type of rice being cooked and the desired level of doneness.

Once the cooking time has been calculated, the rice cooker begins to heat the water. The water is heated to a temperature that is just below the boiling point. This ensures that the rice will cook evenly and prevents it from sticking to the pot.

As the water begins to boil, the rice cooker slowly releases steam. The steam helps to cook the rice evenly and prevents it from becoming mushy.

Once the rice is cooked, the Aroma rice cooker automatically switches to a warm setting. This keeps the rice warm until it is ready to be served.

So, that’s how the Aroma rice cooker works. By using fuzzy logic, the rice cooker can make decisions that result in perfectly cooked rice every time.

Without further ado let’s jump in!

Aroma Rice Cooker How To Use: Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Cook Rice In An Aroma Cooker

1: Using the provided measuring cup, add rice to the inner cooking pot.

2: Rinse rice to remove excess starch. Drain. (Optional)

3: Fill with water to the line which matches the number of cups of rice being cooked.

4: Place the inner cooking pot into the rice cooker.

5: Close the lid securely.

6: Connect the power cord to the rice cooker and plug it into an available 120V AC outlet.

Note: Before placing the inner cooking pot into the rice cooker, check that it is dry and free of debris. Adding the inner cooking pot when wet may damage the rice cooker.

Helpful Hints:

• If you misplace the measuring cup, a ¾ standard US cup is an exact replacement.

• To add more flavor to rice, try substituting a favorite meat or vegetable broth or stock. The ratio of broth/stock to rice will be the same as water to rice.

• For approximate rice cooking times and suggested rice/water ratios, see the “Rice/Water Measurement Table” in step 2.

7: Press the POWER/KEEP WARM button to turn on the rice cooker.

8: Press MENU to navigate to the White Rice or Brown Rice function, depending upon the type of rice being cooked.

9: The rice cooker will now begin cooking. The cooking indicator light will illuminate.

10: Once the rice is finished, the rice cooker will beep and automatically switch to Keep-Warm.

11: For better results, stir the rice with the serving spatula to distribute any remaining moisture.

12: When finished serving rice, turn the rice cooker off by pressing the POWER/KEEP WARM button twice and unplug the power cord.

Notes:

• Brown rice requires a much longer cooking cycle than other rice varieties due to the extra bran layers on the grains.

The Brown Rice function on this rice cooker allows extra time and adjust heat settings in order to cook the rice properly.

If it appears the rice cooker is not heating up immediately on the Brown Rice setting, this is due to a low-heat soak cycle that precedes the cooking cycle to produce better brown rice results.

• Rice should not be left in the rice cooker on Keep-Warm for more than 12 hours.

Aroma rice cooker recipe

This delicious rice cooker meal is low-calorie healthy and super easy to make.

I decided to step it up a notch and share a meal that you can cook fully in this rice cooker it’s super easy and turned out way more delicious

than I even thought it would and depending on the size of your rice cooker you can make from a small amount all the way up to enough to feed your whole family.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Step 1: Take your chicken tenders out and place them in the ziplock bag

Many you think will fit in your rice cooker or feed your family is what you want to add my rice cooker is very small and my steamer tray doesn’t hold a whole lot

So I figured that about 6 of the chicken tenders would fit in my steamer tray so I added 6 chicken tenders to the ziplock bag

Step 2: Pour the marinade over your chicken tenders

I used about 1/4 of a cup of marinade I didn’t want to add too much you just want enough to cover the chicken tenders, Then I seal the bag and you can spread out the chicken to coat it in the marinade.

Step 3: Place your bag that contains chicken tenders in the fridge until we’re ready to cook it.

Step 4: Prepare the rice the rice

The rice is going to take the longest to cook in this meal so we want to get that started right after we get our chicken marinating.

1. Measure out the amount of rice that you want to cook with the measuring cup

As an example: for two people just cook 1 cup Of rice.

2. Rinse the rice

if you don’t have a strainer or colander to rinse the rice in you can do what I do and just rinse it in the inner pot and then pour out the water I do this a couple of times to get all of the starch off of the rice that way it’s not too sticky.

Step 5: Fill the water to the water line in the inner pot

That corresponds to the number of cups of rice that you are cooking place it in the rice cooker and then select the rice type.

Step 6: Wait for the rice cooker to start steaming

The rice cooker doesn’t start steaming right away it takes a little while for it to heat up and start actually cooking and steaming your rice you want to wait until the rice cooker has started so you need to put your chicken and vegetables into the rice cooker

When they have a chance to fully cook my rice cooker with 1 cup of brown rice it took about 26 min for my rice cooker to start steaming

You’ll know it’s steaming once the steam starts coming out of the steam vent and if you’re nearby you’ll hear the steam coming out as well after the rice cooker has started seeing then it’s time.

Step 7: Add the chicken

The chicken takes 30 minutes to steam in the rice cooker so we are going to add the chicken first before the broccoli

Before I add my chicken to the steamer basket, I like to place it on top of a plate because there is a marinade with juices and I don’t want that getting all over the counter, so I place the steamer basket on top of a small plate add the chicken and then place it in the rice cooker to start cooking.

Step 8: Set a timer for 15 minutes

We’re going to add the broccoli to the last 15 minutes of cooking once the timer goes off.

Step 9: Add the broccoli

Add the broccoli you’re going to want to do this as quickly as possible so you lose the smallest amount of steam whenever you’re Adding the broccoli

I just place the broccoli on top of the chicken and add as much broccoli as you want over the top of the chicken and sprinkle it with some salt.

Step 10: Add teriyaki sauce

The next step is totally optional and that is adding a little bit more of the teriyaki sauce on top of the broccoli, in my experience, it adds a lot of extra flavors and some of the sauce drips down into the rice adding some extra teriyaki flavor to the rice as well which is really yummy

Step 11: Close the lid.

Step 12: Set another 15-minute timer after the second timer has gone off.

Tip:

Your chicken has now been cooking for 30 minutes and everything should be fully cooked it is best practice though to check the internal temperature of your chicken before you pull it out of the rice cooker to make sure that it is fully cooked chicken

Should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit once you have checked that Your chicken is fully cooked.

Step 13: Remove the steaming tray from the rice cooker

you’re going to want to remove the steaming tray from the rice cooker that way your food doesn’t continue to cook be careful when removing the tray because there’s probably still steam coming out of the rice cooker and you don’t want to burn yourself

After you remove the steamer tray you may need to let your rice continue cooking my rice cooker had about 10 minutes left of cooking time for the rice when I remove the steamer Tray, so I just placed the tray in the microwave to let it keep warm while the rice continued cooking.

Step 14: Plate and serve

after the rice is finished cooking it is ready to eat, I like to place a scoop of rice on my plate and then pile the chicken and broccoli on top, I also like to add a little bit more of the teriyaki sauce on top for some extra flavor and there you have it a super easy meal cooked totally in your aroma rice cooker.

How to Steam Vegetables in the Aroma Rice Cooker?

Step 1: Wash and prep your veggies

You can use fresh vegetables or frozen vegetables to cook in this rice cooker but pretty much, make sure it’s cut up the way that you want it.

Step 2: Fill the inner pot with two cups of water

Two cups Of the provided measuring cup that comes with the rice cooker, if you’ve misplaced your rice cooker or don’t have it one of the provided measuring cups is actually 3/4 a cup

If you don’t have that measuring cup then you’ll need one and a half cups of water in the inner pot.

Step 3: Steam Vegetables

1. Take your veggies place them in the provided steamer tray put them in the cooker and close the lid.

2. once the lid is closed turn on the cooker press the steam button and set The time. (so the recommended time is 15 minutes).

Once you Set the time then the cooker will beep and the cooking light will illuminate to let you know that it started cooking

The instruction manual that comes with the cooker has a vegetable steaming table there’s also a steaming table for the meat to let you know how long you need to cook them if you’ve misplaced or don’t have this instruction manual

Note: one important thing to note with this is that the countdown timer does not start until the water inside of the cooker boils so this can be really confusing

it was confusing for me the first time, I tried to steam veggies in the cooker because if you’re looking at it and noticing that the countdown timer isn’t moving you might be wondering if It is actually cooking the cooking light illuminated and the beep let you know that it is cooking

After you start to hear the water boiling inside of the cooker that’s when the time of steaming actually starts in order to cook your vegetables, so don’t let that scare you the first time that you try it when the cooking is done, the rice cooker will beep again to let you know it’s done will automatically it turn to warm just like it does when cooking rice.

Step 4: Check vegetables

It’s Important though in steaming vegetables that you check them right away to see if they are done so I just used a fork to stick into my green beans to make sure that they were cooked the way that I wanted them.

Step 5: Remove vegetables from the rice cooker

If the vegetables are done you need to remove them right away so that they don’t continue cooking and get mushy and gross.

When you are removing vegetables make sure that you use some hot pads or some silicone pads with removing the steamer tray, and be careful of the steam because It can still be coming out of the cooker and it can definitely burn you.

Step 6: Season your veggies

The last step is totally optional and that is to season your veggies whenever my green beans were done I transfer them into another bowl and toss them with a little bit of butter salt and lemon pepper in order to give them some more flavor.

those are all the steps that you need to know in order to steam vegetables in the aroma rice cooker

How Long does an aroma rice cooker take?

Almost all rice cookers take about 45 minutes for standard white rice. Cook time depends on rice type, water added and the time it takes to have the rice absorb the moisture under heat.

Typically white rice is cooked for about 20–25 minutes and is allowed to be set under heat for another 20 minutes. Time can be adjusted with water levels and how you like your rice texture.

To know more check the measurement above in step 2.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is Cooking Rice In A Rice Cooker Healthy?

Cooking rice in a rice cooker is convenient but it doesn’t make it healthier than stove-top rice. You’re less likely to burn the bottom of your rice and won’t have to reheat your rice throughout the day which is a nice perk.

A really important thing to keep in mind is to clean your rice cooker every now and then because of mold buildup, especially in the steamer section of your rice cooker.

Also make sure to clean your rice thoroughly before placing your rice in your rice cooker because of traces of arsenic or bugs that can find their way into your rice.

I do not recommend using cheaply made rice cookers because the non-stick coating in the rice bowl may cause cancer. I recommend using Japanese and Korean rice cookers for the reason that clearly says BPA-free.

Don’t keep rice in the rice cooker for long periods of time example over 24 hours because of a potential food-borne illness strain known as Bacillus cereus. So it is best to make only enough rice for the day and then make new rice the next day.

Is there any difference in quality when cooking rice with a rice cooker or multi-cooker?

One more time, it depends. A rice cooker is more likely to cook perfect rice if the cook is inexperienced, and follows directions. An experienced cook who pays attention can make perfect rice with any cooking device.

An experienced cook, with experience in the operation of the particular multi cooker, can make equally good rice.

An experienced cook can also make perfect rice in a saucepan.

If the particular cook and kitchen make a lot of rice, a rice cooker is the easiest and most predictable. Put in rice and water, turn it on, and walk away.

Does Keeping a rice cooker warm for a long time damage it?

Define a long time…

Anything you leave on for extended periods will be affected. Even if it’s just a bit of warping of plastic surfaces. Often if there are plastic feet they will harden and get brittle from extended heat.

Are you cooking rice? Why the extended period of warmth? I find that if you leave the rice on warm for too long it turns into something you can use for porridge or congee.

Does a rice cooker work better than boiling the rice?

No. The rice will come out the same if you can measure the water and rice as you would if using a rice cooker, and if you can monitor the cooking process and turn down and off the heat as required.

The rice cooker IS easier to use and requires no monitoring.

If you cook rice the way that most people cook pasta, boiling the rice using excess water, then straining out the water, and returning the rice to a covered pot to steam, then the rice cooker will not really be easier, but the consistency of the rice is likely to be different than that of rice cooked in a rice cooker.

If you are looking to buy a new rice maker & cooker, i recommend you Aroma Rice cooker.
